The Arty Patch is a creative art studio offering hands-on art classes designed for children. Our mission is to provide a vibrant space where kids can freely express their individual style, explore their imaginations, and experiment with a wide variety of art materials.

At The Arty Patch, creativity is at the heart of everything we do. We nurture each child’s unique artistic journey by introducing them to a wide range of materials and techniques—from watercolour and acrylic painting to drawing, printmaking, stamp making, chalk pastels, 3D sculpture, collage, and more. Along the way, we introduce inspiring artists and their work to spark curiosity and encourage deeper exploration.

Art is more than just making things—it’s about learning problem-solving, independence, confidence, and self-expression. Through creative play and visual storytelling, children develop essential skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Our studio is light, bright, and full of colour, with art supplies displayed to invite hands-on discovery. It’s a joyful, welcoming space where young artists feel empowered to create, explore, and grow.

Meet Rachel

The Arty Patch is run by Rachel Abicare, a passionate artist and experienced educator with over 25 years of working with children. Rachel holds a Diploma of Visual Art and a Diploma of Children’s Services. She has exhibited and sold her own artworks, and continues to find joy in both creating and teaching.

Rachel is also a proud wife and mother of two. When she’s not in the studio, she enjoys visiting art galleries, walking in nature, making her own art, and spending quality time with her family.
